Stampingbella Merry Everything

I am so excited that Magnolia-licious Store is now carrying the
STAMPING BELLA Woodsies Collection and the Tiny Townies Collection they are adorable! There are other new lines added and of course the new Magnolias are out too.

For this weeks "W"ednesday project I used Merry Everything. They are so darn cute you should see the whole set of them.  It was hard to choose which one I wanted color and since it is cold and some parts snowy I thought the Merry Everything would be perfect. I love snowmen,  penguins and snow globes so when I saw this one, it was immediate purchase. lol

I distressed Inked it and Frantaged snowflakes in the background. The papers I used are from Prima's Garden Fable and Butterfly collections. I also used a chipboard frame with some pleated tulle for texture. The flower is Prima and Bark heart is from Live and Love Crafts.

I hope you go over to the Magnolia-licious Store and check them all out, you will fall in love!
Don't forget to join us for the current challenge Magnolia-licious  and leave comments for the Design Team so you can have 2 chances to win from Magnolia-licious.

Prima's Victorian Christmas

This is one line of papers and embellishments that I cannot get enough of.  I did a trade with this pocket letter using Victorian Christmas.  I love PL they can be put together in no time using scraps from a previous project.

I am entering this into the Prima 12 days of Christmas

Midweek Magnolia Challenge Pink and Green

Hello my friends and welcome.  I have been busy making Christmas presents and a few things for our tree this year. I am enjoying every minute of it. We usually purchase gifts but this year is different, a few homemade from the heart will be given instead, hope they like it.   lol

We start another new challenge at Midweek Magnolias PINK  and GREEN.

Bohemian Peony Tilda  is surrounded by Frantaged Bohemian doily lace from the new BoHo collection. Then I took part of the String of Hearts Frame from Dusty Attic and painted it with Prima Mica color in green and pink to frame Tilda.  My papers are from Crafts and You design.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you join us at Midweek Magnolias!!

Christmas Magic blog hop

Hello and welcome to my blog, wasn't Karen's project amazing, I love how elegant and sparkly her desk calendar is. If for some reason you get lost along the way you can always start over at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog and go on from there.

As you know we are having our annual Christmas Magic Blog Hop with 2 chances to win a $20.00 gift certificate from Magnolia-licious, the rules will be at the end of my blog post.  I sure hope one of my friends win this one!!

My younger son is learning about the Nativity of Christ and to help him along I decided to make a family book about the Nativity with the help of Tilda and Edwin along with the Nativity scene images which are available at the Magnolia-licious store.  If they are not there at the moment, just email Diana and she will order them for you.

HOHOHO

I made this book using 2  5x7 inch canvases and file folders from Tim Holtz.  My papers and embellishments are all from Prima's Victorian Christmas and I was inspired by their creator Frank Garcia to make this book.

Here are the inside pages of the files with pockets and accessories from the Victorian Collection.

The story of Christ's birth is told in a simple kids style so that it easy for my little guy to understand what happened.  In one of the folders I have a paper in a pocket "Our Gifts" so we can reflect on the scripture.
I colored the Magnolia images in distressed inks and printed out each scripture on the designer paper to match.  The first one of the Angel folds out to read.

Here are the side views of the book, the back shows the spine and 2 canvases put together with scor-tape and glossy accents glue, it was heavy and wanted to pull away.  I decorated the front and back but made sure that either side can be laid down or handle by childrens hands.

OK Here Is How You Can Win!

Fancy Christmas Tags

It is a great day and a prosperous crafty week at my house. I am getting my Dt work done and making presents for Christmas this year.  All that will come to a halt next week when hubby comes home and we have to do paperwork.  I know but I will have fun again after that is all done. lol

Here are some tags that only took 10-15 minutes to make

I purchased the black tags at Micheals and adorned them with what I had, that was it. I love them.
While I was in MN I asked my daughter to set me up to make my own pins, yep never did them before. Of course these are simple but it is a start. lol

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy crafting!

Canvas for Living Room

Hello my friends!
I have been able to spend extra time on crafting, while the hubby is away the wife plays, lol!!
I wanted to make some artwork for my home but there is very minimal wall space for it and I do not want to overwhelm the areas. My husband planned our home this way, little area for decorating and he succeeded. lol

In the living room we have beige walls and so this needed to have a pop of color as well as to be subdued so to blend in the tiny room.  I apologize for my photo it keeps casting yellow so this is the best I can get it.  I included a brief photo tutorial on what I did.

It is 2 canvases 16x20 inches each that I put together.  The chipboard in the middle are 2 old fashioned water pumps that I put the spouts together, my hubby thinks he should have lived in the 1800's so this was appropriate for the canvas.  The O and  E are made from chipboard barbered wire.

Here you can see the Tim Holtz Postage Tissue that I modge podged onto the canvas and let it wrinkle. I made the L and V with the Prima Texture paste shown below and put some under the barb wire too.  I also used a Golden molding paste to make crackle texture with a mask here and there.
I sprayed the chipboard and canvas with these 2 Prima Bloom Colors
Here is the canvas after spraying the color bloom

To blend I used Martha Stewart paint in Linen for the background and the color Charcoal for the letters.
After the paint and texture paste dried I sprinkled some Prima Mica powder in Rust around the canvas and brushed it in.

This is the result after applying Mica powder and a few strokes of Linen paint again.
Under the barbed wire chipboard is texture paste and I blended the 2 color bloom sprays together and it created a sanded rusty look.

Don't tell my hubby that I did all this messy painting on our new granite in the kitchen, lol.  It cleans up perfectly. That is what happens when he is away, no cooking just crafting in the kitchen. lol

I hope you all have a great day!!

Butterfly Dreams Card and Canvas

ANYTHING GOES AT

I found something new to play with!
Speedball Elegant Writer and here is the video that made me curious.  I practiced a while and decided this butterfly would be fun to use with the pen.  I love the dimension it gave it and the colors are perfect for this project so I made a canvas and matching card using the Elegant Writer pen.

After I stamped my Magnolia Butterfly onto watercolor paper, I outlined the entire butterfly with the pen first. Then I took a watercolor paint brush to make the lines wet and then the black spreads out with some some color.  If you want more color then dab it with a dry paper towel and it will turn more pink or blue, then get the line wet again.  Eventually the pen lines dry and you can no longer spread the ink.

By using the water from the brush I was able to spread the colors to the edges of the paper for a background. I dabbed a bit of white paint onto a stamp and stamped a bit around the background and card.

The canvas background is Pion paper with a napkin from my friend.  They are available at Live and Love Crafts in various designs.  I made 2 doilies from a die and the Pion paper then added the flowers and embellishments.

The coordinating card with another large Butterfly from Magnolia. It is currently out of stock at Magnolia-licious but if you email Diana she would order it for you.  I used the same papers and adorned it similar to the canvas.

Fall Colors at Magnolia licious

Halloween is over and now the fall will fly by as we await the next two upcoming holidays.  Who is hiding their kids candy?  lol  My poor guy is very sensitive to sugar so he can only have a tiny bit so we help him along by eating it too. lol  The privileges of being a parent.

Fall is in the Air
AT MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS CHALLENGE BLOG AND OUR THEME IS
FALL COLOR

I used Bohemian Peony Tilda and the Bohemian doily lace and Bravo sentiment from the BOHO Collection available here at Magnolia-licious.  If you do not see the image at Magnolia-licious then just ask Diana and she will order one for you.
All the florals are a die from a Doohickey club kit.

The doily image is stamped on the background using the versa mark ink pad and then Frantaged with Shabby Ivory to make the border around Tilda.  I really love the lace and doily stamps from this collection and all the Tilda's too.

By leaving a comment on the Magnolia-licious DT blogs you will have a chance to win a special surprise from Diana!

I know the holidays are approaching fast but I hope you take time to enter our FALL COLOR Challenge for a chance to win a awesome prize from Magnolia-licious AND don't forget to comment on the DT's blogs because I have a friend that has won twice now, she was very happy with her "Surprise Package".

Have a great day!
